Soon, the users went to the Downdetector app to see the issue, and there, it was confirmed that the app was facing an outage in the UK and the US. More than a thousand users reported the outage issue there, and this has confirmed the situation.
Before this, we’ve shared the details on the Zoom app outage, and this time, Instagram faced the same issue. The issue did not remain for a long time, and the DownDetector record shows a brief blip for the outage issue.
In the US, most of the reports were from the regions of New York City, Los Angeles, and the areas between these. Although the users are sure that they have faced the outage issue, there has not been any confirmation or any other official notice from the company.
The issue has not lasted for a long time, but this duration was enough to make it big news, as more than 1,700 users have reported the issue on the Downdetector. Moreover, the users also shared the problem on the forums and other social media accounts.
Meta has been the official head of apps like Facebook and Instagram, and the users were curious if other platforms are facing the issue. Most of them headed towards the Facebook app to check if it was working, and they found that only Instagram was facing this issue.
Is AI the Reason Behind the Instagram Outage?

Proactively find accounts we suspect belong to teens, even if the account lists an adult birthday, and place them in Teen Account settings.
This is considered the ethical step to make the technology and social media app safe for all the users. Teens are widely using the Instagram app and can access anything without notifying their parents.
No official statement has been released by the company regarding the outage, and it is difficult to say if the reason is the AI integration and testing, but the outage lasted for a short time and was limited to only two regions, so we can’t guess anything about it.
