On Monday, the FDA recalled the cucumber over the salmonella outbreak. According to the administration, cucumbers grown in South Florida-based Bedner Growers and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, Inc., during the April 29 and May 14.
The rule applies to every distributor, whether a retailer, wholesaler, distribution center, or food service. The FDA and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are working together to control the Salmonella outbreak in multiple states, where more than two dozen people have been sickened with it.

In 15 states across the country, people have reported the Salmonella outbreak, and 29 incidents have been recorded this month, which raises concerns about this outbreak. According to the data released by the FDA, the following states have been recorded with the outbreak:
- Alabama
- California
- Colorado
- Florida
- Illinois
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Michigan
- North Carolina
- New York
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
One of the most linked connections between all these cases hospitalized in the United States was the cucumber, so the FDA has done the research to understand the core reason behind the situation.
The agency says,
Cucumbers may have been sold individually or in smaller packages, with or without a label that may not bear the same brand, product name, or best by date

The FDA’s traceback investigation has identified Bedner Growers, Inc. as the common grower of cucumbers in this current outbreak.
