  • Tomatoes Sold in 3 States Now Labeled Deadly by FDA

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given the highest risk of the tomato recall to the three Southern states. On May 2, the recall was announced, but now, it has become the deadliest and the most dangerous risk of Salmonella, so the FDA is taking strict actions.

The Williams Farms Repack LLC, from Lodge, South Carolina, says that the contaminated tomatoes were sold between the dates of April 23 and April 28. The FDA has conducted some research and confirmed that the contaminated tomatoes were packed and sold under the name H&C Farm, and there is a strong need to recall all of them.

The packages were sold in different sizes, ranging from a pack of three to a variety of 25-pound bags. The administration has classified the recall as Class I. The officials say,

A reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.

The wholesalers and food distributors have bought these packages, and there is a great risk that many of them were consumed in the food. The risk of Samolena is high, and recently, it has not only caused severe health problems but has also been the reason behind the deaths in the three states.

Tomatoes Sold in 3 States Now Labeled Deadly by FDA

On May 28, the FDA released a notice that clearly classifies the tomato recall as Class I because the bacteria there can cause serious health problems that can lead to death. Moreover, the warnings to use the contaminated tomatoes are strict, so the restaurant owners, household users, and others have to be very careful because these tomatoes can’t be consumed in any way.

Those who have any doubt whether they have the supply from the mentioned date must understand that in the frozen or dried form, the growth of the bacteria may be slowed, but still, these processes do not kill the salmonella.
